Bobby Vinton
A multi-talented musician as well as a singer and actor, Bobby was born in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania (a suburb of Pittsburgh), the son of a locally popular band leader, Stan Vinton. Stanley Robert Vinton Jr., professionally known as Bobby Vinton, began his music career in 1959. When he was a young boy, his parents encouraged him to study music, and at the age of sixteen formed his first band. Once he began his career he was also nicknamed “The Polish Prince.” His first single was “Roses are Red” and it climbed to #1 on the charts selling over 4 million copies. Some of his other most famous singles include “Blue Velvet,” “There! I’ve Said It Again,” “Lone Lonely Nights,” and “Ev’ry Day Of My Night.” Bobby Vinton performed at the Topsfield Fair in 2013!
