Barbara Carter
Barbara Carter and her husband Dana have logged more than 50 years of invaluable service to the Topsfield Fair. Barbara’s first duty at the fair was to oversee the staffing for the Fair’s first information booth in front of Coolidge Hall. At that time, the booth was sponsored by the Lynn Item Newspaper and staffed by several folks who had never been to the fair, leaving most questions to be answered by Barbara. Since 1989 Barbara has managed the fair’s souvenir booth, and along with her staff, has been very successful in getting the word out about the Topsfield Fair. Through the years the souvenir booth has been well known for not only its quality merchandise, but for its friendly, helpful atmosphere which surrounds it. Each fall Barbara volunteers to take the advance ticket program to local hospitals and their staff. Her and her husband Dana received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014 for their lifelong contributions to the Topsfield Fair.
