Hoosier Cabinet
A Hoosier cabinet (also known as a “Hoosier”) is a type of cupboard popular in the first decades of the 20th century. Hoosier cabinets were made from the late 1890s through the 1930s.
This piece was loaned to the Topsfield Fair for an exhibit in a prior fair in the late 90’s. It was put into the exhibit to capture the essence of a display that showed a number of wood items. The Hoosier cabinet served a great purpose and were used by many. Although we no longer have them displayed on the fairgrounds, they are still apart of Fair history.
