Dan Hurld
Dan Hurld had many achievements throughout his life. From 1943 to 1946 he served as an Air Corp Cadet in the U.S. Navy, then graduated from University of Massachusetts and later got his Master of Economics in 1970. His specialty became agricultural marketing, production, and quality control for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Dan was well-known for being the host at the Essex County Farmyard from 1952 to 1993 where he presented livestock exhibits and educational presentations.
Dan had multiple interests aside from the fairs and agriculture. He was a talented musician, avid hunter, and fisherman who loved to be in Maine at his beloved cabin in Millinocket. Dan passed away in June of 2008 at the age of 83.
