James O’Brien

James O’Brien is the General Manager of the Topsfield Fair and CFE (Certified Fair Executive) of the Institute of Fair Management of the International Association of Fairs and Expositions. Prior to this position, he was General Manager of Brooksby Farm in Peabody for 29 years. Jim is also the Executive Director of Northeast Harvest, a buy local organization which serves Essex and Middlesex counties.  He is a Board Member of the Essex County Farm Bureau, the Massachusetts Fruit Growers Association, the Essex County Fruit Growers Association, Lynn VNA/Hospice, school board member of Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School, president of North of Boston Visitors Bureau, and District Vice-President and Vice-President of the Yankee Clipper Boy Scouts.  He holds a degree in Forestry and Business Management from the University of Maine at Orono.  He resides in Peabody with his wife Liz.
